I took a few test shots of my friend's new prototype steel table, I think it's pretty amazing, the guy has talent:

He will be making more furniture and odd pieces, let me know if you are interested in custom work.

I saw a few flicks that were decent: From the After Dark series, Unrest and the Hamiltons were better than expected, Hamiltons was pretty low budget but I'll be damned if I couldn't stop paying attention. Some good new music, too: the new NIN is fantastic, the new Tiesto very impressive.
So I said fuck it and am going to see vnv tomorrow, then afterparty at neo. they can't be bad 3 times in a row in chicago, can they?

I saw "The Reaping" with Hillary Swank. What a godawful piece of shit. Talk about a free-for-all script that makes no sense whatsoever. Plot holes and inconsistencies galore! Like, when god sends a plague of lice, why is it that only the kids are the ones getting their heads shaved? Wouldn't lice attack adults too? And why is it that the central band of heroes never gets the boils, or is affected by the locuts etc? Yes I am embarassed to have sat through that...
Another stinker flick: Smokin Aces. Wow no wonder this didn't last long at the box office. Here you have a huge line-up of big name stars with the promise of the punch-in-the-face of a pulp fiction or true romance and instead a limp noodle that is as predictable as it is forgetable.
Last night I was made fun of for having monkey arms. Which is no surprise to me, your reach fingertip to fingertip is supposed to equal your height but my reach is almost a foot longer. I guess you could say everyone has their abnormalities. People also say my posture is also too correct, gee last time I checked not requiring a back brace was a good thing - I guess it reinforces people's perception of me being very rigid.

Grindhouse = brilliant. Death proof, the 2nd movie, has the most suspenseful scene ever captured on film. Period. Kurt Russell is a quite a few steps up from Captain Ron. And why doesn't he have the scar in the 2nd half?
Music wise lots of good shit coming out. the new combichrist is great, the 2nd CD continuous mix is amazing. Will be good to hear him spin on May 11th at neo as *scandy*. The new Architect, Aesthetic Perfection and Wumpscut get high marks.
So vnv is coming back to chicago in 2 weeks, the fact that a) And One is opening for them and b) Ronan has developed a bad habit of doing lame standup between songs make me doubt whether I will go.....though i'd like to hear the new material live.
Had a few trips last month out to LA and Vegas, both fantastic. Das Bunker in LA is a great club, Franck not only an amazing dj but super nice guy. I wish there was something like that in chicago!
5 weeks to go till WGT. Let's see, Dope Stars, Architect, Northern Lite, Emilie Autumn, Seabound, Soman, Absurd Minds, Unterart, Retrosic among 120 confirmed bands over 4 days!! Then it's off to Bratislava, Croatia or Vienna or Prague and ending in Berlin.
Shooting has been a bit slow lately, busy catching up on work. Though in two weeks doing a horror session w/ two girls and then a major collaboration w/ 2 girls, 1 guy and some custom stuff from Laura - I cannot wait for that. Let's just say it will have some nice & twisted *religous* undertones.

Two shoots done in February which is huge for me given I hadn't done much since last October. Well, at least nothing related to the type of content on my site.
The first was with Steph, a super hot girl new to the modeling scene in Chicago. The other was with the always gorgeous and remarkable Amber. There will be 2 sets from each shoot - the first is up on my site, go check it out. Click behind the NWS to see a preview. D and Nicole were f'n amazing when it came to getting Steph ready. And waredrobe was phenomenal again from Laura. Thanks out to them, you guys rock!
( go look now - NWS )
I will be posting more here as I release new galleries on my site. And there is another shoot scheduled for next weekend, can't wait.

When i picked up my brother this morning from the girl's place he shacked up at last night he said "boy do i have a story for you". Turns out after heavy making out for 5-10 minutes, half naked, he noticed her nose was bleeding. He went to the bathroom and noticed his entire face, neck and chest were covered in her blood - and a lot of it. He "even had to get it out of his ear". She was covered as well. Bizarre, huh?
On a different note, here are three flicks I have seen recently I would highly recommend checking out:
Apocalypto The Departed Pan's Labyrinth
All excellent.
Shoot planning for at least 5 sessions has started, finally, for the months of February/March. Things are going to pick up significantly soon - so stay tuned!

My uncle passed away suddenly on Friday at age 49. A week ago he told his older brother (my dad) that he has never been happier in his life. It's been a rough last few days. He was the most laid back, easy going guy I knew that loved intellectual conversation, taught me to fire a .45, go on spontaneous harley trips across states and had the entire pacific northwest mapped out with all the best secret swimming holes. We really miss you.

Amazing how the death of someone close suddenly shifts everything in your life into a new perspective, you know?

Another shot from the Sandra latex shoot. Getting the light to look like that was a challenge. I couldn't put anything inside the elevator due to the cramped space so I had to position lighting from the mezzanine, up and inside the shaft, above. The resulting slimy but polished light was exactly what I was hoping for in that nasty green box:

Do billboard ads ever make you do a second take? ( This one did ) - it was the only pic I got in Germany before my camera went kaput. Who the hell would have ever come up with this??

More pics ready!

Momemtum is beginning to pick up for me despite the super busy day schedule. These are of the gorgeous Amber at Punishment Properties, a warehouse (fortress, really) in Chicago. Kris Laub was on the hair/make-up again and boy did she hit exactly what I was looking for! Amanda Cutting, an upcoming designer from Chicago, contributed the various wardrobe pieces. Keep an eye out for her more of her stuff, it is truly unique.
More shots of course at my site - http://www.caesarcole.com

So I am back from Germany – Wave Gotik Treffen is hands-down the best music fest I have ever been to. Where else can you see great shows in the middle of the woods; in old gas factories and 100ft high industrial domes; or two floors below ground in a brick fortress? Not to mention all the night life and people from all over the world? I will be doing a day-by-day entry (4 total) of my visit over the next week for those that are interested in learning more about the goings-on as well and some of the, eh, challenges I had.
The weekend was fun. Checked out a new place in Chicago called the Cobra Lounge and though my expectations were rock bottom low I was pleasantly surprised – it was everything that Roc Bar SHOULD have been. Atmosphere, layout, design and sound system were all top notch. Music was good too – everything from Motorhead to Danzig and Megadeth, even some Cult and Motley Crue. Thank god for a breath of fresh air!

Those of you that know me understand that I spend a great deal of time trying to find good, new fresh music. I do this through word of mouth but mostly through internet radio shows, both US-based as well as Canadian and German. I like to contribute back to them when possible, and one of the better shows out there - DJ Todd's Real Synthetic Audio - gives listeners an annual opportunity to send in personal playlists. Well, he picked mine for this week and had tons of really nice things to say. Really made my day! In any event I would encourage you to mosey on over to his site and download the 45 min show - you won't be disappointed http://www.synthetic.org
Saw 2 of my friends bands play on Sunday night. Had to make the trek out alone because most were too tired from the weekend to go to Elgin but I thought it was definitely worth the journey. Having never been at the Mission, I was surprised to find it a much better venue than what everyone was saying (e.g., "Last time i was there it was so hot the walls were sweating"). It must have been improved at some point because everything seemed to work out well (except for the short setlists). Cruciform Injection was great - I've known Micah for a few years now and I really dig his evolution. At one point he and Kassie (keyboardist) started signing together on a new, very different styled song and I swear it had a real Prince vibe to it - in a good way! I realize that sounds like an asinine comment but please don't let it dissuade you from checking them out - overall they are what I would classify as a sci-fi electro/industrial band that uniquely incorporates harsh guitars into their live sets. Check these guys out when you have a chance! The other band was called Scintilla (sp?) which features 2 girls, 2 guys and my friend Vince the drummer. Impressive, reminded me a bit of older Gathering in terms of heaviness and modern Gathering in terms of song arrangements and vocal style.
What else.... I have some shoots (finally am able to make some time!!) coming together for the latter part of this month and hope to upgrade some of my equipment.
I am off to Wave Gotik in a few days to check out the scene there - I will get to see Samael, Reaper, Clan of Xymox, Katatonia, Beborn Beton, Tactical Sekt, Agonoize, Solitary Experiments, Destroid, The Gathering, Painbastard and Killing Miranda all in a short span of 4 days! I have never been this excited about a music event - should be a great time.
